Our estate vineyards bridge the historic Santa Clara Valley and the cooler climate Mt. Madonna district of the southern Santa Cruz Mountains. The fog and winds from nearby Monterey Bay dramatically cool down the estate, extending the growing season and providing unique conditions for complex Rhone red varietals. Our Madonne Rouge is the red wine counterpart to our Madonne Blanc a fun yet serious blend resembling the wonderful wines of the Southern Rhone. The final blend consists of 70% Grenache, 12% Syrah, 8% Mourvedre, 6% Carignane, and 4% Counoise. This blend boasts ripe cherry, currant, and raspberry fruit elements with a spice box nose and accenting flavors of white pepper, cloves, tobacco, and brown sugar.
